Description
The Dead Stick Baits Dead Shad 4″ is a compact soft plastic jerkbait designed to imitate the slender profile and erratic movement of a fleeing or injured baitfish.
Featuring a streamlined baitfish-shaped body that transitions into a thin, tapered tail, the Dead Shad is built for subtle movement and responsive action. Worked with short twitches of the rod tip, this style of soft jerkbait can dart and glide unpredictably through the water, creating the vulnerable baitfish presentation that bass readily target. Comparable 4″ soft jerkbaits are widely used when downsizing to match smaller forage or when fishing pressured bass.
The 4-inch profile makes the Dead Shad particularly versatile. Rig it weightless for a twitch-and-pause presentation around shallow cover, grass and baitfish schools, or add weight when you need to reach deeper fish. Similar soft jerkbait profiles are also successfully fished on Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, drop shots and jigheads, giving anglers plenty of options for adapting the bait to different conditions.
Its compact profile also makes the Dead Shad an excellent option for finesse bass fishing, particularly when fish are feeding on smaller baitfish or larger presentations are being ignored.
